Samsung wants its SUHD TV, Blu-ray player, soundbar to rule your home theater set up

Samsung’s got 8 million pixels packed into the KS9800, and the device is the culmination of all its efforts over the years in designing LED and LCD TVs. This SUHD TV uses quantum dot technology — that means the 65-inch 4K TV we got up close with at CE Week 2016 offers bright, accurate colors and supports high dynamic range, or HDR.

The South Korean giant is trying to perfect the technology that sits in your living room and it’s doing that in three ways. The first is the 4K TV , which is curved to offer improved viewing angles; then comes the Dolby Atmos Soundbar that offers more surround sound that you can likely imagine; and finally a Blu-ray player that offers up 4K content in the best possible quality.

The KS9800 doesn’t shine just because it gets so bright, but also because it’s the ultimate plug-and-play TV — it can automatically detect what you connect to it and control it. That means if you plug in a console like an XBox One , or set-top box like Apple TV , you won’t even need a universal remote. That’s all thanks to the fact that the TV is powered by Samsung’s Tizen operating system. You can read more about the KS9800 here .

The KS9800 is available for purchase now , but of course if you’re getting a TV of that size you need the right content for it. Samsung wants to bring that into your living room with the UBD-K8500 Ultra HD Blu-ray Player . Sure you could just opt for compressed audio and video via Netflix or HBO Now, but if you want to really utilize the TV’s potential you need to get a Blu-ray DVD and pop it into Samsung’s player. And with good content, Samsung also has a product that offers a captivating audio experience. The HW-K950 Dolby Atmos Soundbar offers a 5.1.4 surround system — the last digit refers to four up-firing speakers that hit the ceiling and go over you to offer a more immersive environment in the living room.
