Why you should buy the Apple AirPods Max
When we first looked at the AirPods Max with USB-C we called them the “AirPods Max 2” (that now seems a step too far, as even Apple just calls them the “Max”) but they really were a step up. For one, a USB-C connection is just better if you have literally any other gear that needs charging. I have a USB-C desk fan, for instance, and I can charge it with the same connection that charges up my tablet. Apple fans lingering in the Lightning era are still juggling with multiple connection types. Then, there’s the AirPods Max lossless audio (which was, admittedly, a bit shakey at the beginning).
That all being said, you can still gleam a lot of information from our initial AirPods Max review , where one of just two complaints is the aforementioned Lightning cable. They’re still the same “fun” headphones, great for Apple fans, provide excellent comfort, and have outstanding noise canceling.
