All confirmed Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

It used to be the case that every new Pokémon game would include every monster from the games that came before it. With the total list now approaching 1,000 critters , it just isn’t possible to fit them all in a single game, mainline or otherwise. Following the release of P okémon Scarlet a nd Violet , the next entry isn’t going to be Generation 10 or a remake, but a new entry in the Legends game called Pokémon Legends: Z-A . We know we’re returning to Lumiose City from Black and White to work our way up the ranks of a tournament, but the full roster of Pokémon is still a mystery. I’ve been picking through all the promotional material released so far to round up a list of all the Pokémon we can confirm are going to be included when it launches in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch 2 .

In the initial trailer alone, over 30 Pokémon have been spotted and identified, and we got even more with the second trailer. We haven’t seen any Shiny Pokémon, regional forms, or Legendaries besides Zygarde yet, so even though this list is already very long, there could be more waiting to be discovered. Here’s every one I was able to confirm, including all their evolutions and Mega Evolutions:

We just got some juicy new Pokémon Legends: Z-A details
Pokemon Legends Z-A Battle Zones

During the February 2025 Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will launch in late 2025, although no specific date was revealed. Nintendo unveiled a new trailer showcasing some new information about the game, such as the baseline plot. Taking place in Lumiose City, the metropolis in Pokémon X and Y, the location is going through an urban development plan so that both people and Pokemon can coexist.

Wild Zones are areas where wild Pokemon can live within the city and can be caught. Some are hostile and may chase after you. Wild Pokemon aren't restricted to Wild Zones either, as they can be found in places like rooftop buildings.

An Extended Look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A!

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is coming in "late 2025," but the Japanese trailer specifically suggests a fall release — and Nintendo already confirmed a simultaneous global launch. Today's Pokémon Presents gave us another sneak peek at the upcoming game and revealed a lot more details than we previously had, including the new starters, combat style, rivals, and more.

Everything announced at Pokémon Presents 2025

It's February 27, which means that it's Pokémon Day. To celebrate the release of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, The Pokémon Company throws a special live stream every year on this day. That's always a cause for excitement, but this year's Pokémon Presents showcase wasespecially intriguing with the Nintendo Switch 2 right around the corner.

While we didn't see Nintendo's new console during the stream, we did at least get a tease of two games likely coming to the system. Pokémon Legends: Z-A got a new trailer that teased a late 2025 release date, which would likely make it a Switch 2 cross-launch. We also learned that Pokémon Champions is in development, which could likely make its way to Nintendo's new system. Beyond that, we got updates on the usual line-up of Pokémon mobile games like Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket and Pokémon Go. If you missed the show, here's out full recap of what was announced.
